I, Too, Live To Play

"I often sit and wonder why it has taken
the world so long to notice my athletic abilities. This is not
to say I have been considered invisible in the world of athletics,
but not always treated as an equal. Though much of my life has
revolved around athletics, not many have noticed the pride I have
taken in being the best possible player I can be. Have I not worked
as hard, sweated as much, or felt any less in my heart the realities
behind what competitive athletics are all about? Have I not sacrificed
in much the same way all trivial things in life by offering my
life to a game I could not live without? These two questions I
have asked myself, questions with only one answer: Yes I have.
It's been stated, "Fulfillment of an athlete's soul is achieved
through understanding that he cannot live without competitive
athletics," or that this "Old School Athlete must Live To Play."
If this is true, then I can say I know there is one other absolute
truth in life: That I've been an Old School Athlete, proving myself
athletically time and again. Too bad it's taken this long for
the rest of the world to understand that I, too, represent the
quintessential athlete; and that I, Too, Live To Play"
